Kali era
About the Kali era
Indian tradition counts the Kali Yuga, the fourth and last world age, from a traditional date of 23 January 3102 BCE, the death of Krishna in the Mahabharata tradition. The Surya Siddhanta and medieval almanacs use the running count, which reached year 5127 in 2026. Because it is a solar count it stays in step with CE years, unlike lunisolar eras.
