Yezdegerd era
About the Yezdegerd era
Zoroastrians count years from the accession of the last Sasanian king, Yazdegerd III, in 632 CE, an era the community kept after the Arab conquest of Iran. Unlike the religious calendar, whose months intercalate, the era runs continuously without dropped months, so the year number stands around 1395 in the late 2020s. Parsi records in India and Iran still date documents by it.
