Balinese Pawukon calendar
About the Balinese Pawukon calendar
The Pawukon of Bali is a 210-day cycle of 30 named weeks, wuku, of seven days. Running concurrently with it are weeks of every length from one to ten days, and the coincidences of these cycles determine temple festivals and auspicious days. Galungan, one of Bali's biggest festivals, recurs every 210 days. Bali also keeps a lunisolar Saka calendar, whose new year is the day of silence, Nyepi.
