Mid-Autumn Festival
About the Mid-Autumn Festival
The Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the full moon of the eighth Chinese lunar month, in September or early October, when families gather, share mooncakes and admire the harvest moon. It is a major public holiday in China, Vietnam, where children parade lanterns, and among communities worldwide. Korea keeps the same full moon as Chuseok, its harvest homecoming.
