About Sunday
Sunday is named after the Sun, following the Hellenistic planetary week, which assigned days to the seven classical planets. Constantine the Great made it a day of rest in the Roman Empire in 321 CE. It is the first day of the week in American and Jewish usage, but ISO 8601 treats it as day 7.
