Monday
About Monday
Monday is the Moon's day, a translation of the Latin dies Lunae, which also gives French lundi and Spanish lunes. ISO 8601 makes it the first day of the week, as do most European calendars. Many languages, including Russian and Chinese, simply number weekdays instead.
