March
About March
March is named after Mars, the Roman god of war, and was the first month of the early Roman year. That origin explains why September to December, the seventh to tenth months by name, are now the ninth to twelfth. The March equinox, around 20 March, is the anchor for the dates of Easter and Nowruz.
