About the Ethiopian calendar
Ethiopia's official calendar has twelve months of 30 days plus Pagume, a thirteenth month of five or six days. Its leap year falls every four years without exception. The year begins on Enkutatash, 11 September, or 12 September before a Gregorian leap year, and the year number is seven or eight behind the Gregorian, because its era derives from Annianus of Alexandria's dating of the Incarnation.
